2019 Amos Tuck Essay Competition
Open to all Middle School and High School students
In the mid-19th century, Exeter resident, Amos Tuck, invited 13 other political leaders to Exeter for a meeting. Please address the following questions:
What was discussed?
What individual was present who later became President, and how did this meeting influence his Presidency and American history?
What was the significance of this meeting to one of our current day political parties, and how is this discussion evident in that party’s platform today?

All middle school and high school aged students are eligible, and encouraged, to enter this contest.

Winning essays will be announced and displayed on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at the Exeter Town Hall.
The top three winners will be treated by State Representative Deborah Hobson to a State House visit and the top winner will additionally receive a gift basket, including a $50 Amazon gift certificate and other assorted goodies!
